Before I even started writing the first draft, I was drawing the characters and the little bits of scenes playing around in my head. (I was still a frosh at the time.) Eventually, when I started writing, art became a way for me to visualize the story and a reference to look back on to reduce the probability of a contradiction in description. Several of these I submitted to The College Board for my AP 2D art exam at the end of my senior year of high school.
